Rosalie
More is a member of three generations of artists, including mother,
sisters, and daughters. From 1968 to 1985, she was a member of the
Southern Oregon Society of Artists. In
that organization, she won many awards, including the first prize
(professional category) in their Annual Paint-Out for each of the
following years: 1983, 1984, 1985. She
also received Best of Show at their 1984 Annual Paint-Out.
In addition, she won First Prize in their 1983 "SOSA
Invitational" and received Painting of Year Award for 1980.
During those years, her work was displayed at the Rogue Gallery,
the Grants Pass Museum of Art, the Lamplight Gallery in Jacksonville, and
other locations. She took watercolor painting workshops with: Phil Austin, former president of the MidWest Watercolor Society; Richard Nelson, Professor of Art at the University of Hawaii; Nelson Sandgren, Professor of Art at Oregon State University; Allen Munro, Professor of Art at Oregon State University; Frank Webb, American Watercolor Society; Katherine Chang Liu, National Watercolor Society; Jan Kunz, Watercolor Society of Oregon; Judy Morris, Northwest Watercolor Society; and many other well known artists. |

In
1983, she was juried into the Watercolor Society of Oregon.
Her paintings were juried into
many WSO shows, and she was awarded numerous awards and prizes, including
a Special Award from juror Milford Zornes in 1984, WSO Bronze Merit Award
for Outstanding Achievement in 1988, and the WSO Silver Merit Award for
Outstanding Achievement in 1990. In
April 1991, she received the Winter Burrow Award and Maxine Masterfield
Award (Frederick Wong, AWS -- Juror).
In 1995, WSO awarded her the Gold Certificate of Merit Award for
Outstanding Achievement in addition to the Second Prize for her entry in
their Fall Show Competition (Juror: Peggy Flora Zalucha).
As part of the WSO Traveling Show, her paintings were displayed at
the State Capitol Building in Salem, OR,
the Hult Center in Eugene, OR,
the Benton County Historical Museum, and many other shows. From
1985 to 1990, she owned and operated her own Spectrum of Arts Gallery in
Ashland, OR. Her
paintings are included in more than 150 private and corporate collections,
including those of the U.S. Bank (Portland, Oregon Branch); McCaw
Cablevision (Medford, OR); Burrill Lumber Company (White City, OR);
Medford Medical Clinic (Medford, OR); and Trilite Corporation (Pensacola,
FL). In
1999, she began designing cover art for eBooks, and sold designs to The
Fiction Works and to individual clients. In 2000, one of her designs won
the Spectrum Award from EPIC. Always an avid photographer, she turned to digital photography in the new millennium, specializing in wildlife photography. In 2008, one of her photos took 5th place in a photography contest sponsored by the Mail Tribune and Total Camera. In 2009, her wildlife photos were made available for sale at www.yourgoddessart.com.
